| Car Information: | Original features: matching VIN #'s, 6 volt, bumpers, jack, radio, seat belts, glass (all except windshield), key, instruction manual and service booklet, and probably more that I don't know about. I've owned this car for about 6 years now and I've taken care of him the best I know how. He's been my daily driver all through college and has treated me extremely well. I was told when I bought him that I was buying him from the original family who owned him. Within the last year or so: new gas tank (there was rust in the tank recently and had to replace it), new gas pump, new generator, new carburetor, new paint, new running boards, new fender beading all around, new window seals on windshield, rear window, and pop-out windows, new antenna, new trunk latch. And probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Within my six years of owning it: new starter, new front engine seal, new speedometer/odometer. I checked the compression and it seems to still be good on all four cylinders. There is a little bit of oil on the 1 and 2 cylinders but I have a feeling that's because of the angle the car sits when I park it on the curb. When I tune him up he starts *immediately* with no problems. The valves do *not* go out of adjustment very often, and if they do it's minor. He does have a tendency to snap the clutch cable once a year. There is some interior wear, particularly near the passenger side back seat (see picture), but that's the worst of it. The drivers side is much cleaner. The owner before me did install seatbelts for the back seat, as they had children. This car is my baby but the time in my life where I could live at my parents' home and work on it myself has passed. I just got married and as much as I love him, I just can't keep him (the car, not my husband). I really want to see him go to an owner who will keep him in his original condition and take good care of him... maybe even turn him into a show car! Thanks for your interest! |
