This is a concourse car. This car has been driven 1,070 miles in
the past 11 years. It is a frame off restoration of a low mileage
car completed in 1992. The current owner purchased it from the
2nd owner (restoration) in 2002. The original owner
(documentation available) purchased it on December 31, 1928 from
New Haven (CT, USA) Packard (Nelke Motor Company). The restoring
owner purchased it on December 5, 1960. The car is in Waterbury,
CT, 28 miles from New Haven. To our knowledge, it has never been
out of this state except by enclosed trailer in the 90's for
shows. In 1992 it won the Eastern Packard Club's 1st and the
National Crawford Award (documentation available). The restoring
owner spent over $100,000 on the car. Documentation for this is
available along with the original purchase invoice showing the
three original accessories; 1) Dual Side Mounts, 2) Luggage Rack;
and 3) Trippe Lights. A copy of the original "Owners / Operating
Manual" comes with the car along with all documents.
This car has never been altered. It is restored exactly as it was
purchased. It runs and drives exactly as it did or better than 74
years ago. Cosmetically it is probably better than it was when it
was delivered. All of the materials used in the restoration meet
or surpass the original specifications. Every piece of nickel
work on the car was removed and re-plated to show quality. The
coach was re-lacquered to museum quality. The engine was rebuilt
to finer tolerances than could be machined in 1929. Great
attention to detail was paid to all aspects of the car. We
